Building for Belonging: The Financial Plan
As the design for the Cornerstone Project has evolved, so too has our financial plan—refined, focused, and firmly grounded in responsible stewardship.
When the initial feasibility study was completed in 2024, the project was envisioned at $9 million, including a two-level atrium, extensive lower-level renovations, and a full replacement of the heating and cooling system. Since then, our building and design teams, supported by professional cost consultants, have worked carefully to reduce scope and streamline costs while preserving the most necessary features that directly advance our mission of accessibility and hospitality.
Today, the total estimated cost of the project, including both the Accessibility Atrium, the Heating Stabilization and Spot-Cooling Project, and our parish’s commitment to the Diocese’s Cast the Net Campaign, stands at $8.1 million. This refined plan allows us to achieve full accessibility, modernize our heating system, and prepare for future sustainability upgrades—all while maintaining the beauty and integrity of our heritage building.
How We’ll Fund the Vision
We are fortunate to begin this campaign from a position of strength.
$1.5 million is already in reserve from St. Thomas’s Our Heritage Is Our Future campaign.
The remaining $6.6 million will be raised through a combination of parishioner pledges, foundation grants, bequests, community donations, and a potential diocesan line of credit to bridge timing as gifts are received.
Every dollar given is an investment in a future where St. Thomas’s remains a place of welcome for all who come through our doors. Together, through faithful giving and careful planning, we are building for belonging—with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
