Do you have a birthday, anniversary, or other thanksgiving you would like included in the prayers on Sunday?
Please send requests to prayerandcare@stthomas.on.ca; both one-off and annual thanksgivings are welcome. We want to share your joys as well as support you in times of trial. -
Some folks have been receiving an email that appears to be from the rector, but it is not. Do not click or hit reply; delete it. It begins with something like “Where are you? I need a favour.”
If in doubt, check the email address from which the message has been sent. If it’s not from frhumphrey@stthomas.on.ca, it is not from the rector. Fr. Humphrey will never ask you to contribute gift cards via email.
There is no need to inform Fr. Humphrey of these emails, as he has no control over who tries to impersonate him, and his own email account has not been hacked or otherwise compromised.
Catechesis | Sundays after High Mass
The Catechesis group meets twice a month after High Mass for a potluck lunch and discussion of an element of worship. Newcomers and visitors are welcome. The program is led by Gideon Strauss with Fr. Micah and meets in the Father Freeland Room. Write to Fr. Micah to learn more or sign up, frmicah@stthomas.on.ca
Lenten Book Study | Wednesdays at 9 am
Explore the radical claim at the heart of Christian faith—that God is love. Join John Stuart, head of Christian Education, and Fr. Micah Latimer-Dennis in a four-week study of The Love that Is God by Frederick Bauerschmidt. The group will meet on Wednesdays after Morning Prayer at 9:00 am in the Father Freeland Room beginning February 25. Write to education@stthomas.on.ca to register or speak with Fr. Micah after a service to learn more.
Poetry & Prayer | Mondays at 7 pm
Margo Swiss, parishioner, poet, and professor, will lead a four-week study of poetry and prayer on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm. The study will consider how poetry can illuminate the experiences of desolation and consolation in prayer. The study will begin March 2. Write to education@stthomas.on.ca to learn more or register through The Thurible.
